Dodge Challenger review

Look at that beast of a ride! Bullz-Eye.com’s Gerardo Orlando recently reviewed the 2011 Dodge Challenger and this is what he had to say on the beauty:

There are very few cars that would make my “dream car” list, particularly if you’re considering vehicles that fall under six figures. But after driving the Inaugural Edition of the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392, I’ve added this amazing muscle car to my short list.

Ever since Dodge reintroduced the Challenger in 2008 as part of the American pony car revival, the vehicle has earned significant praise for the bold styling that evoked the original version from the early ’70s. It’s a beautiful coupe and Dodge is sticking with this third-generation design for the 2011 model with some minor tweaks. A total of 1,492 Inaugural Edition Challengers are being built featuring the blue-on-white or white-on-blue racing stripes that you see in the photos, but if you haven’t reserved your vehicle, you can get the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 in all the other available colors. The retro design is lean and powerful and the car is definitely a head-turner.

While I’ve been a big fan of the new design, I didn’t truly appreciate the new Challenger until I was invited to drive the SRT8 392 in San Francisco. The car is simply amazing. I drove the automatic version and it was a joy to drive – I didn’t miss the manual at all. No matter what speed you are traveling at, the car does exactly what you want it to do whenever you touch the gas pedal and it responds with a muscular roar. The car is a torque monster – the 392 Hemi is rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The entry level version of the Challenger has received an upgrade as well, replacing the 250-horsepower V-6 for Chrysler’s new Pentastar V-6 with 305 horsepower.

Bullz-Eye Review of the 2011 Camaro 2LT Coupe

Bullz-Eye.com reviews the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT Coupe. Find what they had to say about this sweet ride!

The 2011 Camaro 2LT Coupe continues the impressive rebirth of the 2010 model with a few notable tweaks. When the Camaro arrived for our review, I took a few moments to admire this victory red car and think about how great it is to have the Camaro back in the game! The 2011 Camaro showed us the past and the future in a skin so stylish I’d call it borderline iconic.
Exterior

The styling of the 2011 Camaro is nothing short of eye-popping and what better way to bring such an important nameplate back to life than with this homerun design. Before the 2010 Camaro hit the streets, many wondered how much of the concept car the production model carry forward. GM answered the call and invoked the Camaro of the 60’s and 70’s with a new and fresh design that hit on all cylinders. The Camaro doesn’t go as retro as the Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger, making her own mark instead. The low roofline, aggressive stance, and in-your-face front end make a lasting impression for even the most discerning eyes! The lines on this car are so dead-on, from the fender flanks to the gorgeous rear, you wonder where this Camaro been hiding all of these years? The 20″x8″ front and 20″x9″ rear flangeless, painted aluminum wheels with midnight silver finish were teamed up with a rear spoiler and unique tail lamps for the RS model we drove. Put simply, The 2011 Camaro is one of the best looking cars on the road today.

Camaro Convertible Revealed

Motortrend.com reveals that 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible!

Chevrolet has been teasing us with its Camaro Convertible since the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. While we’ve seen plenty of photos of the concept and Neiman Marcus edition, the automaker finally revealed shots of the production model today.

Predictably, the car looks extremely similar to the concept shown nearly four years ago at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show and identical to the Neiman Marcus car save for a few items. The five-spoke wheels featured on the concept that also appeared on the Neiman Marcus convertible have been replaced with the same five-spoke chrome wheels bolted to the Camaro coupe. The silver windshield surround from the 2007 concept and Neiman Marcus Camaro is now body-colored.

Like its hardtop sibling, the Camaro Convertible will be available with your choice of V-6 or V-8 powertrains in LT, LS, RS, or SS trims. The V-6 is GM’s 3.6-liter, direct-injected unit good for 312 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. SS buyers get GM’s 6.2-liter, LS3 V-8 that puts out 426 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. GM hasn’t released full powertrain specifications yet, but expect the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions with both engines.

10 car brands to watch for

CNN.com put together a list of 10 car brands that are poised to enter the North American market from old European brands, Asian upstarts and a few U.S. names.

The last five years have brought the biggest upheaval in the global auto industry in a century. China has become the world’s largest auto market, and India, Russia, and Brazil are the liveliest up-and-comers.

As part of this overthrow of the old order, new car brands are poised to enter the U.S. market, joining the four dozen that are already here. They range from established European names trying to reestablish a U.S. presence, to young Asian manufacturers looking to expand beyond their local markets, and Silicon Valley startups, hoping to leverage a new concept or technology.

In a speech to Standard and Poor’s Auto Industry Hot Topics Conference in New York, Jeff Schuster, executive director of Global Forecasting for J.D. Power and Associates, identified a number of established auto manufacturers that are either planning to enter the U.S. or may be considering it, and another five “boutique startups.” Herewith, a selection:
