2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Edition Review

A staff member breaks down the 2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Edition in his latest car review for Bullz-Eye.com.

The 2011 Mazda MX-5 Special Edition PRHT (power retractable hardtop) is a great looking car, whether you’re inside the cockpit or watching her drive by. Our sparkling black mica test model was as much fun as we could handle in this pleasant, late-summer midwest weather.

Exterior
Mazda rolled out this special edition with just 750 copies being produced for the 2011 model year. The exterior has an upscale sporty look that boasts 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/45R17 high performance tires, body-colored front and rear bumpers, dual power remote door mirrors, aluminum hood, dual exhaust silver outlets and body \-colored power retractable hard top. Other notable exterior features include a chrome grille, Xenon headlights, glass rear window with defogger, silver seatback bar trim, fog lights and chrome outer door handles and front headlamp bezels. The retractable hard top gives the MX-5 Special Edition a stronger and more complete look that makes it stand out from rag top models.

BMW 2 Series Scooped

With the new BMW 1 Series hatch already released, everyone is waiting to see what the coupe will look like. This is important for us since the U.S. only gets the coupe version of the 1.

The 1 series was always the BMW meant for people yearning for smaller bimmers of old, but its styling was a serious drawback. This new on appears much improved with sleeker lines and less of the potbelly look that the old one had. However, these are just Auto Express’s renderings and not the real deal.

The new 1 series will be powered by BMW’s new turbo 4, which will replace their iconic inline 6 in the base models. Six cylinders will still be available in the higher spec models, but will be turbocharged. If you want more power, there will probably be a new generation of the 1M.

The name of the car might change as well. Auto Express guesses it will be called the 2 to differentiate the model from its hatch siblings. They back this up with rumors that the entire BMW lineup may receive a naming shakeup. Solid details are not yet known though.

With the 3 and 5 series getting more expensive and larger, the new 1 series looks to be the BMW to get. The coupe should be launched for the 2013 model year, so more concrete details should be coming out soon.

The Subaru BRZ is Coming

What you see above is not a promo shot from an 80s era Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, but a teaser for Subaru’s new sports car.

The BRZ is a RWD, boxer-4 engined sports coupe that shares its platform and drivetrain with the Toyota FT-86. However, both models will be styled differently. Much has been seen of the Toyota version in concept form, but no one has a clue on what the Subaru version will look like. The closest we have gotten was some odd plexiglass cutaways shown last year that only highlighted the mechanicals of the car.

“BRZ” is marketing speak for “Boxer Rear-drive Zenith” and will be seen at the Frankfurt Auto Show in “BRZ Prologue Technology Concept” guise. Yes that is the actual name, I did not randomly develop keyboard tourettes. Clunky name aside, the BRZ will hopefully look like a winner when it debuts in Frankfurt.

2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan Review on Bullz-Eye

Bullz-Eye.com reviews the 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan!

Hyundai dramatically improved their 2011 lineup with a refined and more powerful Hyundai Genesis. After a week behind the wheel of this gem, we were officially fans. We recently drove the coupe model and were very impressed, so naturally we were interested to see how the sedan stacked up.

Exterior
Our test model was metallic titanium gray sporting 18-inch hyper silver alloy wheels and from the time you first lay eyes on this sedan you can’t help but admire the overall sleek design. The smooth and silky exterior is dressed to impress with HID xenon adaptive headlights, illuminated door sill plates and a front end that much more expensive autos can only envy. Dogleg rear pillars and the angular body design keep admirers wondering which luxury brand this vehicle belongs to. The chrome accents only increase the appeal of the 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 and raises expectations when entering the cabin.
