There are several disturbing trends for the automakers. One, car sales in general are slipping after years of sustained growth for the industry. Also, sales of trucks (including SUVs and CUVs) are doing fine, while sales of traditional passengers cars are plummeting.
This trend is highlighted by Ford’s dismal sales results for April 2017 where US sales plunged 7.2%. This shows overall weakness in the market along with the troubling trend for cars versus trucks.
Carmakers have had a great run, but now we’ll see how they react to a market slowdown.
In 1955 through 1957, Ford made what may be considered the most iconic two-seater American sports cars ever built. The 1955-1957 Thunderbirds have been seen on countless television shows and movies, not to mention being pictured on a U.S. postage stamp. In the 1975 movie American Graffiti, Suzanne Somers plays the role of a blonde mystery girl who is spotted driving around town in a white 1956 “T-Bird.”
Small business need practical vehicles that help them get work done efficiently. Ford is sharing stories from small business owners making use of the Ford Transit to take care of business.

The 2014 Chicago Auto Show was opened to the press today, and on Saturday will be open to the public at the impressive McCormick Place in frigid Chicago. There are tons of great new cars worth seeing, but this vintage Ford Mustang caught our attention right away. It’s billed as the first Ford Mustang Convertible ever sold. You’ll see the all-new 2015 Mustang right next to it as well.
