Driving with Dodge in San Francisco

Gerardo Orlando of Bullz-Eye.com had the opportunity to drive some of the new Dodge vehicles in San Francisco! Find out what he had to say on some of the rides.

I was invited by Chrysler to join other bloggers in San Francisco for the opportunity to drive some of the new Dodge vehicles. As you can see from the photos above, we had a beautiful day in the city by the bay, and I had a great time with this impressive new lineup.

The Dodge Charger is the flagship vehicle for the Dodge brand, and the Charger has been completely redesigned from the ground up for the 2011 model year. The iconic feel of the vehicle remains, but you can see the new, sleeker design in the first photo above and in the other Charger photos. It offers a sport sedan that I think will have huge appeal for guys looking for performance, aggressive styling and value. The car was a joy to drive through the winding roads in the Bay area, as the new suspension lived up to the promise. For a car that starts at $25,995, buyers will get tremendous value.

The real treat of the day was the 2011 Dodge Challenger. I had the opportunity to drive one of the Inaugural Edition versions of the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392. This car is beautiful as you can see from the slideshow above, with the white paint and the blue racing stripes, and it’s the ultimate American muscle car. Frankly, I can’t remember a car I enjoyed driving more than this one. The car is a torque monster – the 392 Hemi is rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. I drove the automatic version, and this car is a beast! When you hit the gas at any speed, this car does exactly what you want it to do as it respond with a muscular roar. It handles beautifully as well, and any car enthusiast will fall in love with this 2011 Challenger.

While the Challenger and Charger stole the show, I was equally impressed with the other vehicles in the Dodge lineup. Dodge brought back the Durango, and this full-size SUV should be a real hit. The 2011 Durango has all the luxuries customers are becoming accustomed to in the crossover segment, but this SUV is the real deal as it still leads its class in towing capacity. Meanwhile, the handling is much better than previous versions of the vehicle, so you don’t feel like you’re driving a big truck.

2011 Nissan Maxima Car Review

Bullz-Eye.com recently reviewed the 2011 Nissan Maxima. Find out what they had to say about this new ride!

Most of you have seen the Nissan Maxima commercial where the guy’s wife announces that they’re having a baby and he transforms their 370Z into a Maxima. Once you get to the end of this review you’ll know how believable we found the commercial.

Exterior
The 2011 Maxima has a clean and refined look – a mixture of a sports and luxury sedan. The chrome finish around the windows and smoked HID Xenon Headlights give the 2011 Maxima 3.5 SV a distinctive look. The model we tested also sported fog lights, dual chrome exhaust with rolled edges, 19″ aluminum light hyper-silver wheels, a dark chrome grille, and a rear spoiler. Basically, this Maxima looked refined and cocky, a truly modern take on a model known for its practical, real-world driving experience. The front end invokes the design of Nissan’s high-end GTR sports car. That’s a good thing, friends.

2011 Ford Explorer roaring out of the starting blocks

Bill Ford (L-R), Ford executive chairman, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, Illinois. Gov. Pat Quinn, Jim Farley, Ford group vice president, Global Marketing and Canada, and Ford employees unveil the all-new 2011 Explorer at an event in Millennium Park in Chicago on July 26, 2010. The redesigned SUV includes safety features such as inflatable seatbelts, and over 30 percent better fuel economy than the current model Explorer. UPI/Brian Kersey Photo via Newscom

Ford’s new 2011 Ford Explorer won’t go on sale until early next year but early signs are “all good” as orders are pouring in!

Ford Motor Co. has about 15,000 orders — about double its projections — for the 2011 Ford Explorer that isn’t slated to hit showrooms until the new year.

The preorders include about 3,000 retail orders, 7,500 dealer orders and more than 4,500 from companies, Ford officials say.

For the 2011 model year, the Explorer goes from its traditional body-on-frame truck roots to a reincarnation atop the underpinnings of the Ford Taurus, making it a more fuel-efficient crossover, compared to an SUV. Ford hopes the remake will spur a sales resurgence for a vehicle that was hugely successful before higher gasoline prices tamped down the demand for SUVs.

Ford Motor Co. may have got off to a late start in China but Mullay and Company aren’t sitting around now! The Blue Oval is adding 100 dealerships this year alone in China with more to come at a brisk pace. This is where the growth is going to come from for the global automakers and the gloves are off to and the bank vaults opened up to grab as many new customers as possible!

From AutoNews.com:

BEIJING — Ford Motor Co. is adding 100 dealers in China this year, mostly in smaller cities in inland provinces where new car demand is surging, the company said today.

The move, more aggressive than a previously announced plan, will bring the number of Ford dealers in China to 340 by the end of the year, up from an original target of 310, said Joe Hinrichs, president of Ford’s Asia and Africa operations.

The company plans to introduce four new models in China over the next few years, including the Ford Edge crossover next month.

Hot Cars Destined to be Collectibles

CNN Money checks out the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe:

Base price: $62,165
Mileage: 14 City / 19 Hwy

Most new cars go on to become used cars and, eventually, high-grade scrap metal, but a few become sought-after collectibles.

The experts at collector car insurer Hagerty Insurance have picked these 10 models as most likely to attract future car collectors based on a handful of merits.

Collectible cars tend not to be those that were extremely popular in their own day. Most new car buyers have fairly mundane, practical needs. They aren’t after design flair, excitement or outrageous performance — the very attributes car collectors crave.

A prime example is the Cadillac CTS-V coupe, the most impractical Caddy on your dealer’s lot. With its radically chiseled body lines and 556-horsepower supercharged V8 this car is all about looks and performance. Your backseat passengers be damned.

Check out more of today’s new cars, tomorrow’s collectibles.
