Nissan Launches “My Versa Road Trip” Social Media Campaign

Nissan is excited to announce the launch of the “My Versa Road Trip” social media campaign for the all-new 2012 Versa Sedan! MyVersaRoadTrip.com, a Facebook Connect enabled website, is a destination where users can create their own trips by selecting routes, choosing their soundtrack and inviting Facebook friends to come along.

Entrants can submit their trip, telling Nissan why their online journey should be made into a real one and share it with their social networks. Six winners will be selected this Fall to embark on their proposed road trip, AND win an all-new 2012 Versa Sedan! Entry period for “My Versa Road Trip” runs through October 19, 2011.

Nissan is also partnering with comedian Adam Carolla, to promote the vehicle and road trip campaign with a light-hearted, humorous approach. Adam will be featured in a series of videos showing why he decides to change his name to ‘Adam Versa’, his own road trip around his hometown of North Hollywood and a “Hypothetical Road Trip Game” with Larry Miller.

The Versa Sedan, on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide, offers the most legroom, headroom, trunk room and technology per dollar than any other car in America, making it a facilitator of great experiences!

Heisman Trophy Winners Move Into Nissan’s Heisman House

As the presenting sponsor for the Heisman Trophy, Nissan is bringing college football fans new ways to get involved with the Heisman experience on TV, online, and live at 10 of the season’s marquee matchups!

On TV: Fans will get to see what happens when you gather 11 Heisman Trophy winners under one roof in Nissan’s new 45-second “Heisman House” episodes which will air immediately before ESPN’s Saturday Night Football on ABC each week of the season. The spots feature a once-in-a-lifetime lineup of college football legends, ranging from Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, and Doug Flutie, to newer faces like Mark Ingram and Troy Smith. You can watch the first episode, which debuted last Saturday.

Online: Nissan is giving fans the chance to make their voices heard by turning its one official ballot over to the public. Fans may vote on ESPN.com or via the Heisman app on Nissan’s Facebook page. In addition to helping determine this year’s Heisman Trophy winner, fans who vote will also be entered to win a grand prize trip to attend the trophy presentation and activities live in New York on December 10.

The Sports Illustrated Heisman Tour Presented By Nissan kicked off its fifth year last Saturday at Cowboys Stadium, before LSU bested Oregon in ESPN’s Game of the Week. At each of the remaining nine tour stops, fans will have the opportunity to meet college football legends and former Heisman Trophy winners, get their picture taken on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the Heisman Trophy, pick up a free copy of Sports Illustrated’s special edition College Football’s Unforgettable Games, and take a closer look at the 2012 Nissan Maxima and Nissan Frontier.

Afternoon Car Break (ACB): JDM Legends Restored

It’s been an up and down week for car enthusiasts. On the one hand, a new Porsche 911 and the upcoming debuts of the Frankfurt Auto Show looks to carry fun cars into the future. On the other hand, the death of the RX-8 (and possibly the rotary engine itself) and the rise of a slightly warmed over Camry, point to the fact that it is still a very harsh market for enthusiast cars to survive in.

However, for your afternoon break, enjoy “Depth of Speed’s” JDM Legends Restored. This video shows us that there will always be a place for enthusiast cars in the marketplace because of the emotional bonds people create with them. You won’t see videos like this expounding a person’s love of their Toyota Camry no matter how many roll off the showroom floors.
