2011 Audi Q5 3.2 Quattro Tiptronic Review

Bullz-Eye reviews the 2011 Audi Q5 3.2 Quattro Tiptronic:

Even though Audi wasn’t the first to introduce a compact luxury crossover they made sure they got it right the first time with the Audi Q5 . The trick in this segment is to provide the space needed in an SUV/crossover while also providing the handling and ride expected in a sports sedan. Here are our thoughts on whether Audi accomplished those goals.

Exterior
When you first take a look at the 2011 Audi Q5 3.2 quattro Tiptronic, you realize how far crossovers have come in the last few years. The quartz gray metallic test model we drove included the S Line package that comes with 19-inch wheels standard. That height puts the Q5 into crossover range, which is great for visibility, but it’s also low enough that the vehicle looks like a sports sedan on steroids. The single frame grille and sculpted headlights give the Audi Q5 a very distinctive look and the muscular fenders suggest the power that awaits the driver. The exterior is complimented with a small rear spoiler, bold dual-exhaust ports and sleek rear LED tail lamps.

A Convertible Cadillac in your future?

From the Detroit Bureau:

Cadillac is looking to go topless. Years after abandoning its last drop-top, the domestic luxury maker is reportedly developing a new convertible that will be part of a wave of new products coming to market by mid-decade.

The Detroit maker is apparently opting for a soft-top, rather than the more heavy, complicated – and expensive – folding metal roof that a number of makers, including BMW and Volkswagen, have been adopting.

As TheDetroitBureau.com reported earlier this week, convertible sales have plunged precipitously in recent years, from 247,519 in 2005 to 112,914 just four years later. Ford has seen demand for the Mustang ragtop drop from 25% of the pony car’s overall sales to just 13% lately. But there are signs of a ragtop renaissance.

Blacked out SLS Mercedes Benz

From AutoBlog.com:

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG isn’t exactly subtle to begin with, but Kicherer’s take on the theme is decidedly more… stealthy. For starters, the German tuner wrapped the car in matte black vinyl for a more subdued look. It then replaced the big Silver Star in the mouth with a blacked-out blank grille that looks like a baleen whale’s mouth. And while the rims on the 20-inch wheels (21 in the back) are polished for a little contrast, the spokes get a blackout treatment as well. Matte-finish carbon fiber trim and aero pieces complete the overall package.

Underhood, the engine has been tuned from the stock 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque up to 621 horsepower (equivalent to 630 on the metric scale, hence the 63 moniker) and 516 lb-ft. That’s good for a claimed 3.5-second sprint to 62 mph and a 199 mph top end. Have a closer look in the gallery below.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo Review

Bullz-Eye.com’s staff member recently reviewed the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo. Check out what the car expert had to say about this ride.

Hyundai has been on a roll lately and the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T will only grow Hyundai’s presence in North America. Bullz-Eye recently tested the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T and we were very impressed with all that this car has to offer at such a reasonable price.

Exterior
When I first took a look at the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T, the sleek design stood out and made a grand first impression. Hyundai grew the offerings of the 2011 Sonata with the Limited 2.0 Turbo, adding 18-inch hyper silver alloy wheels and dual exhaust to the already very sharp exterior. Our pearl white test model also included side mirror mounted turn signal indicators, front fog lights and enough chrome trim to enhance the car’s appearance. The smooth look of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo garnered plenty of compliments during my time behind the wheel and many confused the car for a more expensive luxury brand.

Interior
The interior of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo is loaded with options. The design is as far from conservative as one could imagine. I liked the wine leather interior seats, which worked well with the dark dashboard and carpet. The panorama moon roof was awesome and, with features like push button start, heated front and rear seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, steering wheel mounted cruise, audio and phone controls I was looking forward to spending time in the 2011 Sonata. Also in our Limited package was an Infinity am/fm/XM audio with a popping subwoofer, HD radio with multicasting, iPod/USB and auxiliary input jacks. To round out the package, Hyundai included an integrated bluetooth hands free phone system, electrochromic auto dimming rearview mirror with compass, navigation with high resolution touchscreen display and rear back up camera. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo is loaded but that only gets you so far if the interior isn’t a place that you want to spend time. Thankfully, the look and feel of the interior is again something you would expect from a much more expensive vehicle. At times I did see some sun reflection from the shiny plastic finishing in the interior but that was a minor negative in what is overall a very well thought out cabin.
