New Fiat 124 Spider

Here’s in interesting video about the new Fiat 124 Spider, which isn’t quite as Italian as you would think given its name and legacy. This new roadster is actually built of the new Mazda MX-5 model with some design changes and a different engine. Now, this Mazda is a great vehicle and offers a great starting point, but it’s very odd to have this iconic Italian roadster built from a Mazda.

  

Jaguar’s Project 7 concept car looks pretty badass

Jaguar just posted this video to promote it’s new Project 7 concept car, which looks pretty impressive. Their definitely trying to play on the iconic Jaguar look from the early 1960s. Jaguar noted that the Project 7 will make a “dynamic debut” at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 12th. According to Jaguar, “Project 7 is a brand new design study based on Jaguar’s acclaimed F-TYPE – its all-new, two-seater, convertible sports car.”

  

2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Track Test

You gotta love the iconic Mazda Miata! It rings of weekend drives with the top down and sunny days. That’s fine and dandy but how did this car perform when you want to really have some fun? Our friends at InsideLine took this bad boy for a few trips around the track and seemed to respect this roadster for it’s abilities. Hey, you have to remember this is a sub 25k car here!

Mazda’s iconic roadster celebrates its 20th birthday in 2010, as the first MX-5 Miatas that rolled off the line in Hiroshima, Japan, were 1990 models. This seriously entertaining little car has proven to be a real survivor, particularly in the always fickle U.S. market. Other automakers have tried and failed to break into the affordable roadster niche (which now hovers around the $25,000 mark), and only the Mazda Miata keeps on keeping on.
