Porsche reveals new Hybrid

Now you know hybrids are not only for real but really cool. Porsche is unveiling a hybrid 911 called the GT3 R.

From CNN.com:

Porsche revealed images late Wednesday of its first hybrid sports car, a track car it plans to unveil at the Geneva Motor show next month.

While you won’t be able to park this car in your driveway — it’s a race car intended for LeMans endurance racing — it is based on the same production 911 you can buy today. A future 911 hybrid for public consumption is “open for discussion,” a Porsche spokesman said.

2010 Porsche Boxster gets solid review

Another strong review of a car everyone already loves! Will the strong reviews continue with the all new sports sedan Panamera next year? We think so!

From the Detroit News:

nullChristmas came early this year: Porsche agreed to let me test drive the 2010 Boxster S.

Who am I to question Porsche? Does anyone ever question them?

Well, with the Boxster, many people have. It’s one of the vehicles in Porsche’s lineup that some have derided for not possessing Porsche’s soul. Silly purests. For most people, if it says Porsche on the hood, it’s a Porsche. Do you really need a 911 for twice the price? The Boxster does the job quite well and carries just as much weight as any other Porsche for 99 percent of the population out there.

VW to purchase Porsche

porsche-carrera-1

News broke over the weekend the VW will purchase Porsche.

Porsche SE’s controlling families will agree Thursday to accept an offer by Volkswagen to buy its sports car business Porsche AG for roughly 8 billion euros ($11.28 billion), Der Spiegel reported Saturday.

Germany’s leading weekly magazine wrote that the rival Porsche and Piech clans, which own 100 percent of Porsche SE votes, will approve the two-stage takeover at a supervisory board meeting on July 23.

There are several hurdles to the deal, however, including some tax issues, so we may not see this deal close as soon as initially reported.
