2013 SRT Viper Teased
Posted by Joe Gustafson (01/31/2012 @ 11:41 am)

When we added the Viper to our “20 Cars for 2012 List” piece, not much was known about the car. Not much needed to be known. It’s a Viper; that alone is worthy of anticipation. However, to satiate our need for a bit more information, Chrysler has given us a teaser image of the new snake’s face.
As you can tell, not much can be gleaned from this picture either. But, we do know that behind those glaring headlights will, probably, lie a larger V-10 engine. We also know that this Viper will be under the “SRT” brand, not Dodge. Finally, the Viper will have traction control for the first time ever, as mandated by federal law. Traction control aside, the Viper will probably keep its fangs and be just as raw a driving experience as ever. Expect more information and tortured snake puns as the Viper comes closer to being revealed.

2013 Porsche Boxster Debuts
Posted by Joe Gustafson (01/12/2012 @ 3:51 pm)

Alongside the 911, it was easy to forget that the Porsche Boxster is also due for a refresh. Porsche has not forgotten about its enty-level sports car, though, and has delivered a brand new Boxster that is wider, lighter, and more powerful.
The 2013 Boxster can be distinguished at a glance by its newly refined exterior and interior. The exterior sports some flamboyant side scoops, new lights similar in shape to the 918 supercar concept, and an overall tightening of its appearance. The interior sports q center console inspired by the Panamera and better materials. Also, the car is slightly widened to increase interior volume. This redesign bodes especially well for the new Cayman as well since the Cayman is basically a Boxster with a roof.
On the mechanical side, the non-S Boxster get a horsepower bump to 265hp and the S models get an increase to 315hp. Both models recieve either a 6 speed manual transmission or a 7 speed PDK option. Weight has also been dropped by 77lbs.
Lighter, leaner, and meaner, the new Porsche Boxster sets its sights on driving out from under the 911′s shadow.

The Camaro has been a huge hit for Chevrolet and today the company made several announcements relating to the heavily anticipated Camaro ZL1. Chevy said that the ZL1′s monster engine will be rated at 580 horsepower and that the base price of the vehicle will be $54,995. It’s quite a vehicle to introduce as Chevy celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The new ZL1 coupe is a 2012 model that will go on sale early next year.
The Camaro ZL1 features a supercharged 6.2L engine that makes it the most powerful production Camaro ever. The ZL1 goes from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 184 miles per hour! It also features a Performance Traction Management system that helps this beast hug the corners.
Chevy will also introduce a ZL1 convertible as a 2013 model that they featured at an event ahead of the 2011 LA Auto Show and Bullz-Eye was on hand to snap some photos of this beautiful vehicle as you can see in the slideshow above. Anyone who appreciates convertibles will love this vehicle.

Breaking: Fiat 500 Abarth Spotted Before L.A. Auto Show Debut
Posted by Joe Gustafson (10/29/2011 @ 5:25 pm)

The official debut of the U.S. Fiat 500 Abarth is Nov. 16 at the L.A. Auto Show, but it looks like we don’t have to wait that long to sneak a peak. Like finding your Christmas presents early, an intrepid Fiat fan has appeared to snag the first glimpse of the U.S. market 500 Abarth.
It appears that all the juicy exterior bits have made it over intact, but we will still have to wait until Nov. 16 for the power, the details, and the price. One can only hope they won’t put J.Lo. in the advertisements and embarrass what should be a fantastic little car.

First Drive: 2012 Hyundai Veloster
Posted by Staff (10/14/2011 @ 12:59 pm)

Hyundai has been on a roll with its new models as we’ve noted in our recent reviews. With its emphasis on aggressive and unique styling, leading gas mileage and overall value, Hyundai is being rewarded with steadily increasing sales. The Veloster coupe is no exception as we discovered when we drove this newly introduced model last week in Michigan.
Exterior
The styling of the new Veloster is truly impressive. As you can see from the photos, Hyundai is going for a new generation of buyers with Veloster. The front end is very assertive with the wraparound headlights and prominent lower grille. LED headlight accents also come standard. The rear view is equally aggressive, and I liked the centered placement of the rear exhaust pipes. Veloster comes with 17-inch alloy wheels standard and optional 18-inch wheels with painted inserts that match the color of the vehicle. Consumers can also personalize body graphics when ordering their Veloster which should appeal to younger buyers.
The hidden third door stands out however as my favorite styling feature. The door is located on the passenger side and the door handle is hidden in the top left corner in the black trim area when you stand facing that side of the vehicle. With this convenience the coupe is much more functional as back seat passengers can avoid crawling in and out of the vehicle. The executives at Hyundai were non-committal when asked by reporters about the possibility of adding a fourth door on the driver’s side, but that’s hardly necessary.

2011 Honda CR-Z 3DR EX Navi Review
Posted by Staff (09/15/2011 @ 10:41 am)

Tom Orlando reviews the 2011 Honda CR-Z 3DR EX Navi inside and out for Bullz-Eye.com!
The CR-Z is Honda’s two seat hybrid sports car with Motor Assist (IMA) gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain technology and an eye catching design. After a week behind the wheel of the 2011 CR-Z 3DR EX Navi we found a lot to like.
Exterior
You really have to do a double take when you initially see the 2011 CR-Z 3DR EX Navi. The car looks like the offspring of the Insight and the venerable Honda CRX. Our test model was North Shore Blue sporting 16-inch alloy wheels with P195/55 R16 all-season tires, heated power door mirrors with turn indicators, high intensity discharge headlights, fog lights, LED brake lights and remote entry with security system. The CR-Z EX engaged admirers to ask questions about the car. We heard plenty of descriptions like “cute” and “cool” from a wide ranging demographic. Basically this is a fun car that also gets plenty of attention.
Interior
Once you enter the cabin of the 2011 CR-Z 3DR EX Navi the feel is more sports than economy, and we give Honda plenty of credit for that. The interior of our model was loaded with options, including Honda navigation system with voice recognition, 360-watt AM/FM/CD premium audio system with 7 speakers including subwoofer and MP3/WMA playback, leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum shift knob, steering wheel mounted controls, MP3 auxiliary input jack, ISB audio interface, Bluetooth hands free link, automatic climate control with air filtration system, ECO assist indicators, 12 volt power outlet and aluminum pedals. The cockpit has been compared to that of an airplane and even high end sports cars. Basically you have a very modern dashboard and overall cabin in the 2011 CR-Z 3DR EX Navi which received an overall favorable response from our staff. There is plenty of room for the driver and passenger with significant storage behind the seats and in the trunk space.

Mazda invited Bullz-Eye.com to the Frankfurt Motor Show. Check out BE’s experience below!
Mazda invited us to join them in Frankfurt as they unveiled the new CX-5 Crossover SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The crossover market is exploding, and this new vehicle gives Mazda with a strong entry in the small crossover segment. The CX-5 is a completely new vehicle for Mazda from the technology to the design language. Mazda CEO and President Takashi Yamanouchi proudly introduced the new vehicle at the auto show along with Chief Designer Masashi Nakayama and Program Manager Hideaki Tanaka.
As you can see from the photos above, the styling on this all-new crossover is sporty and aggressive. CX-5 becomes the first production model to feature Mazda‘s new design theme, “KODO – Soul of Motion.” Chief Designer Masashi Nakayama explained: “With the CX-5, our focus was on expressing a strong sense of vitality and agility. We looked at videos of cheetahs; their agile footwork and how they use their entire body as a spring to accelerate rapidly and change the direction instantly. They emanate great energy throughout their entire body. Inspired by their efficient yet beautiful movements, we aimed to push the SUV appearance to new levels with KODO design language.” The prominent front and rear fenders and sculptured body sides give the CX-5 a distinctive look, and we’ll start seeing the new front grille and face of the vehicle showing up on other Mazda cars.
