2011 Lexus GS 450h Review

Tom Orlando reviews the 2011 Lexus GS 450h from the interior to the exterior and much more!
The 2011 Lexus GS 450h 4DR sedan really lives up to the company’s tagline: The Pursuit of Perfection. After spending a week in this sedan we are officially huge fans of the finished product.
Exterior
You can’t help but admire the stylish, 18-inch, five-spoke wheel on the 2011 Lexus GS 450h 4DR as they set the tone for a truly classy skin. What Lexus refers to as the “L-finesse design” incorporates a 112.2-inch wheel base, long hood, and pulled back cabin with a short rear deck. The design gives the 2011 Lexus GS 450h 4DR a very powerful but elegant stance. Some of the exterior differences for the GS 450h include a blue hybrid designation on the side rocker moldings, aluminum and blue enameled rear model designation, front grille, special 18-inch light-alloy wheels, a Lexus Hybrid Drive engine cover, blue front and rear “L” logos, a blue tint to the headlamps, clear tail lamp covers and a power meter that replaces the tachometer. Combined with the incredible Obsidian Black paint job, the test model we drove was absolutely gorgeous.

Maserati to Launch SUV
Posted by Joe Gustafson (08/09/2011 @ 12:42 pm)

Yet another Frankfurt Auto Show debut has come to light, this time from Maserati. To increase sales volume, Maserati is looking to increase their offerings within the next few years. The first model is the new, unnamed Maserati SUV.
Jealous of Porsche’s success with the Cayenne, Maserati is going deep into Fiat’s toy chest to create their own competitor. The result will be the equivalent of a rich man’s turducken. Expect this new model to use the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s platform, a Ferrari derived V8 (most likely similar to the Granturismo), a ZF 8 speed transmission, and the appropriate Maserati styling adjustments both inside the car and out.
If you are connecting the dots, this means that Maserati will produce a truck with a platform engineered by Jeep (also the Mercedes GL), powered by a Ferrari motor, using a German transmission, and built in the U.S.A.
Let’s see if Maserati can put all the parts together to make a true competitor to the Cayene and BMW X5M when the curtain falls in Frankfurt. If it goes all terribly wrong, expect something like the Chrysler TC by Maserati though.

Regal GS Priced
Posted by Joe Gustafson (08/04/2011 @ 10:14 am)

Buick’s sportiest Regal, the GS, is set to arrive this fall. Now we have word of just how much it will cost. The new GS will set you back $35,310. For that you get a turbocharged, 270hp four cylinder motor hooked up to a traditional 6 speed manual transmission. An automatic will also be available. The GS also sports a more aggressive front fascia, wheels, suspension, and interior appointments. The GS may be the most powerful Regal but it does not seem to be set up for full out track assaults, but to be a competent daily driver.
Buick sees the GS competing with Acura TSX V6′s and Audi A4′s. The only glaring fault is that the GS it is only front wheel drive. So is the TSX, but the Audi is available with all-wheel drive. The GS has more power than the A4, but it will be interesting to see if GM is able to handle the torque steer enough to deliver a luxurious ride. Holding the wheel while it wiggles around in your hands does not give the illusion of class and sophistication. Odder still, the car on which it is based, the Vauxhall Insignia VXR, does come with all-wheel drive, and a 321hp, turbocharged V-6.
The GS is a great value when compared to the Acura TSX, but may not sway people out of their Audi’s without all-wheel drive. A final verdict will have to wait for a test drive, but the GS looks to definitely change the way people view Buick.

2011 Cadillac CTS Sedan Review

Bullz-Eye.com reviews the 2011 Cadillac CTS Sedan!
Cadillac has been working hard the past decade to get back in the game, but it’s the best competition in the world. The company has had some success, and the 2011 CTS Sport Sedan has helped them rack up decent sales numbers. In order to increase Cadillac’s sales further, though, they need the CTS to be a leader. We’ll let you know whether we feel the CTS is up to the test.
Exterior
We drove a Cadillac CTS Sedan that had a black raven color exterior and 18″ painted aluminum wheels, which together made this car look more grown up than I expected. The front end is the best looking exterior design feature of the CTS Sedan. The fascia is distinctive and bold and really adds some character to the car. The low stance and muscular fenders with the fog lamps and Cadillac crescent give an appearance of both luxury and performance. The rest of the CTS is somewhat of a letdown. It appears the exterior was slapped together and the rear end looks bloated and out of place.

Fisker Automotive and China Grand Automotive Group to bring premium electric vehicles to China
Posted by Staff (12/15/2010 @ 4:41 pm)

You may know Fisker Automotive as the manufacturer of the Karma. The Karma is an electric car at heart, but with extended range to back up the green-savvy tech. It’s a very cool car, and you can see CEO Henrik Fisher’s design credentials (Vantage, DB9, Z8) come forth in the above Karma shot from the LA Auto show.
Fisker has partnered with China Grand Automotive Group, the number one passenger car trader in China, to deliver vehicles to the Far East.
From the press release:
“We are extremely proud to be working with CGA to support Fisker Automotive in the fast-emerging Chinese market,” said Henrik Fisker, CEO, Fisker Automotive. “With its vast network of experienced retailers CGA will give Fisker an instant and credible footprint in the region. CGA’s attention to detail and excellent customer service will ensure Fisker buyers receive the level of service and peace of mind expected of a premium brand.”
Fisker Automotive’s first car, the Fisker Karma, will make its Chinese debut at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2011. The Karma represents Fisker Automotive’s vision of responsible luxury and is the world’s first true electric vehicle with extended range.
The Karma combines world class style and performance with industry leading economy and the lowest emissions of nearly any production vehicle. With a total range of 483 km (300 mi) the four-passenger Karma saloon is capable of traveling 80 km (50 mi) on emission-free electric power alone, and an additional 403 km (250 mi) on low-emission hybrid electric power.
This is a big announcement for the green movement and especially for China. Fisker has reportedly already seen 3,000 vehicle preorders from China.

From Celebrity Teaser:
New York, NY—Global Green USA celebrated their 11th annual Sustainable Design Awards Monday, Dec. 6 at Chelsea Piers, with a special Product Design Award to honor the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, presented by Kelly Rutherford. The award was accepted by Lincoln Group Vice President of Sustainability, Environment, and Safety Engineering, Ford Motor Company, Sue Cischke. While presenting the award, Rutherford said, “Lincoln is committed to greening the future of America with its new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. This innovative high performance automobile is the most fuel efficient luxury sedan in America.”
To celebrate this exciting night for Lincoln, notable attendees including Entourage star Adrian Grenier, Sophia Bush and One Tree Hill’s Austin Nichols, Arianna Huffington, Thora Birch, Edward Norton and actress Judith Light pulled up to the event in style, driven in the MKZ Hybrid.
Sophia Bush, a passionate environmentalist, was honored along with co-star Austin Nichols with the Entertainment Design Award for the design of the BP Oil Spill Campaign to raise awareness. She joked that despite the New York City pot holes, her ride over in the MKZ Hybrid was very smooth, and declared, “My hat’s off to Lincoln for making such a fabulous car!”
Judith Light, in a red velvet Valentino pantsuit, exclaimed that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid she rode in was “Gorgeous!” and actor Adrian Grenier was also impressed by the stylish, environmentally friendly new car. Hot Cars Destined to be Collectibles
Posted by Staff (11/26/2010 @ 10:36 am)

CNN Money checks out the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe:
Base price: $62,165
Mileage: 14 City / 19 Hwy
Most new cars go on to become used cars and, eventually, high-grade scrap metal, but a few become sought-after collectibles.
The experts at collector car insurer Hagerty Insurance have picked these 10 models as most likely to attract future car collectors based on a handful of merits.
Collectible cars tend not to be those that were extremely popular in their own day. Most new car buyers have fairly mundane, practical needs. They aren’t after design flair, excitement or outrageous performance — the very attributes car collectors crave.
A prime example is the Cadillac CTS-V coupe, the most impractical Caddy on your dealer’s lot. With its radically chiseled body lines and 556-horsepower supercharged V8 this car is all about looks and performance. Your backseat passengers be damned.

2011 Lincoln MKS Review
Posted by Staff (11/03/2010 @ 1:58 pm)

Bullz-Eye.com reviews the 2011 Lincoln MKS! Read on to see what they had to see about this luxury ride.
We had the opportunity to drive the new 2011 Lincoln MKS Ecoboost and, with this car, first impressions went a long way. The MKS luxury sedan is the flagship vehicle for Lincoln so our expectations were high to say the least. The addition of the powerful and efficient Ecoboost engine offers a significant upgrade as Lincoln strives to reclaim its place at the top of the luxury car market. After driving the vehicle for a week, we can say with confidence that the MKS met our expectations and we expect Lincoln to make progress with its planned renaissance.
Exterior
The MKS we tested was Tuxedo Black Metallic with 20″ cast aluminum polished wheels with tires measuring at 245/45R20 that, together with the chrome accents, really set this car off. The front fascia and HID headlamps joined the lower forward looking stance to give the impression that the Lincoln MKS was ready to go at the press of a button. The MKS is a large sedan but has an athletic and clean look that should satisfy those looking for the finer things that are available in the luxury car segment.
