From MSN.com:

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe
Noted black-on-black (aka “murdered out”) luxury vehicle enthusiast and sometime-international soccer star David Beckham has been spotted driving around Los Angeles in a sleek, blacked-out Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. The ride’s color scheme matches his $400,000 customized Porsche 911 Cabriolet Turbo and jacked-up Jeep Wrangler, and rounds out the luxury lineup in his garage, which also includes a Ferrari F430 and a V10 Lamborghini Gallardo. His wife, Victoria — aka Posh, former Spice Girl turned Marc Jacobs muse and international fashion plate — plays the ivory to Becks’ ebony in a white Porsche 911 Cabriolet.

The awesome battle between the Mustang and Camaro is in full swing and has not been this competitive for a long, long time. In 2009 the Stang’ outsold the Camaro and this year in 2010 the Camaro has the lead. But wait, hold on there Camaro fans as Ford has launched the 2011 Mustang with new and improved engines and in May the Mustang came out on top.

We’ll stay on this testosterone fueled race to the finish line in 2010. Also, Once the convertible Camaro is unleashed in the coming years this will only get better!

From the Detroit Free Press:

It’s Camaro versus Mustang, and the fight is on like Beatles versus Stones.

But unlike the tired brouhahas the baby boom insists on revisiting — do we really need to debate Vietnam, women’s rights or the Voting Rights Act ever again? — the pony car battle is as relevant as last month’s sales report and Ford and GM’s next quarterly earnings. Thoroughly modern versions of the two ’60s icons are selling fast and fueling optimism at the automakers.

It might as well be the summer of love again. The Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have fired the imaginations of drivers, and car buffs are partying like it’s 1968.

There are a lot of questions about the upcoming all new car based Explorer mostly because it has been kept a top secret for so long now. Will the Explorer and Flex be able to co-exist? Chief engineer Jim Holland is confident the new product will silence critics when it hits showrooms later this year. The anticipation grows and if the Explorer turns out to be a home run what does that do to Flex sales which are mediocre at best?

From Detroit Free Press:

Jim Holland, chief engineer for the redesigned Ford Explorer, which is expected to come to dealerships late this year, has faced naysayers before.

Holland, 49, was chief engineer of the Range Rover when a redesign of that SUV was launched in 2002.

“We got a lot of the same questions that I am getting today,” Holland said.

Mainly, those questions center on whether the new Explorer can maintain its ruggedness and towing capacity as it shifts from a body-on-frame truck to a car-based crossover. Ford still plans to market the Explorer as an SUV.

We’ve all driven some bad (like really bad) cars through the years and now MSN has put together “The Worst Cars Ever”. There are some obvious ones on the list and a few surprises. Yes, You have the Ford Pinto and Yugo but the Pontiac Fiero?? Check it out and let us know what you think!

Quality is in serious question these days. A rash of recent recalls, most notably the uproar over Toyota’s failure to recognize problems with faulty accelerators and brakes in multiple models, has rocked the public’s confidence in the auto industry’s ability to build quality transportation. In their defense, automakers are building better machines today than they have at any other time in history. However, there are still problems, calling to mind a time when car manufacturing wasn’t so good — a time when engines exploded, rust was rampant and cars might simply split in half. To celebrate the best of the worst, we’ve compiled a list of the most hideous looking, poorly designed, horrendously built and, in some cases, most dangerous cars of the past 50 years. It’s a train wreck of riches.

We’d like to get our hands on a few of these gems as well.

Porsche’s hybrid supercar concept is the star of the show, and the good news is that while it’s a concept, it’s anything but vaporware. The 918 Spyder’s technical specification reads like a science experiment and its claimed performance like science fiction. But as Mike Connor reports, Porsche is apparently considering building a strictly limited run of production versions — maybe 750 to 1250 in total — using a similar business model as the Carerra GT’s. Significantly, Porsche CEO Michael Macht made a point of saying the company has only ever shown one concept car that never made it into production. So consider our hand up for the first drive. Please form an orderly line to the left.

This new idea appears to be a sound one and I say keep reinventing yourself GM and good things may follow. I can’t help but get the feeling that GM is really changing for the better!

It’s part of GM’s effort to give more workers a chance to test-drive the company’s cars and trucks, and possibly lead to new sales for the automaker.

GM sales were up 14% in January, but the company is still rebuilding after emerging from bankruptcy in July.

Vehicles — such as the Chevrolet Equinox midsize SUV and Buick LaCrosse sedan — should arrive Monday at the first stops: GM plants in Arlington, Texas; Shreveport, La.; Defiance, Ohio, and Tonawanda, N.Y.

Carroll Shelby’s own tuning company Shelby American has announced the return of the GT350 model, debuting it at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale 45 years after the original GT350 was released.

Based on the new 2011 Mustang GT, the GT350 gets a Ford Racing supercharged mated to the stock car’s 5.0-liter V8 to make roughly 500-hp – which shouldn’t be hard considering the stock motor already makes 412-hp. The engine also gets some bling with Blue Shelby GT350 valve covers and billet caps.
