The New Maserati Levante is About to Explode onto the Scene – and Here’s Why We’re Excited…

Excitement over the new Maserati Levante is nothing new. We’ve been holding our breaths for the big reveal for over a year already, but the anticipation has now stepped up a notch thanks to an early glimpse of the SUV.

Although the exquisite new motor won’t officially be revealed until the Geneva Motor Show in March, those in the know have had an early glimpse of the pre-production model, and they promise that it’s something to write home about…

The Magnificence of Maserati

Maserati has long been lauded as one of the finest Italian car series to ever grace its winding mountain passes and cobbled streets. Time and time again, we have seen examples of the brilliance of its engineers, the beauty created by its unparalleled design team, and the drive and power that only true genius can create.

The Maserati Levante promises to be just as exquisite as you’d expect coming from the minds of such masters. Although many purists still cringe away from the thought of an SUV wearing the proud Maserati badge, the prototype should dispel any fears that they have.

In appearance, the Levante draws heavily from the Porsche Cayenne, the vehicle credited with saving Porsche following its inception in the early 2000s. Despite this ode to one of the best SUVs on the market, however, it remains Maserati through and through, with its front and rear fascias heavily resembling those found on the Quattroporte and Ghibli.

A Stunning Innovation

Although the Maserati Levante has cleaved to its heritage, incorporating the traditional styling and design flairs that we’ve come to expect, it still remains a first for the Italian manufacturer. The SUV model is its one and only example of a plug-in hybrid, marking a major step forward for the company, and an intention to extend such pioneering technology across all of its models.

Given its reputation for sterling audios, it should come as little surprise that the Levante is also expected to debut a number of aural innovations, so that drivers can celebrate their new acquisition with the perfect soundtrack.

Despite this exciting development, however, the mood surrounding the release of the Maserati Levante remains mixed. Erstwhile enthusiasts decry the thought of an SUV bearing the iconic Italian maker’s badge, whilst others are ready to welcome it with open arms.

On our part, the correct response is clear: the Levante heralds a new generation of brilliance, and with Porsche, Bentley, and Jaguar already having unveiled their own exquisite SUVs, it is only right that this lauded leviathan should join them in the glorious new age of the luxury SUV.
